Premier League heavyweights Manchester United were held to a stalemate by Bournemouth as the sides played out an entertaining 4-4 draw on Tuesday in the English top-flight.

The Cherries were in the lead for a brief period of time during the fixture as Marcus Tavernier put the ball into the net from a second-half free kick as he squeezed the ball through the gap in the United wall.

The game witnessed eight different goalscorers as Amad Diallo, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Matheus Cunha netted for Ruben Amorim’s side, while Antoine Semenyo, Evanilson, Marcus Tavernier, and Eli Junior Kroupi scored for Andoni Iraola’s team.

Diallo gave the hosts the advantage after 13 minutes by heading United ahead, but Semenyo equalised five minutes before half-time. United regained the lead before the break when Casemiro scored with a header from a Fernandes cross.

Iraola’s men started the second half strongly, with Evanilson leveling the score shortly after play resumed and Tavernier putting them ahead for the first time in the game with a free kick.

Fernandes then scored a free kick in the 77th minute to draw level again, before Cunha gave Amorim’s side the lead two minutes later. It seemed as though the hosts would secure the victory. However, Bournemouth rallied, with Kroupi scoring in the 84th minute to earn a point at the iconic venue in Manchester.

United climbed to sixth in the table with 26 points from 16 matches, while Bournemouth stand 13th in the English top-flight with 21 points.
