Margao court to be ready by Aug: Govt to HC

Panaji: The construction of the new civil and criminal court building at Margao is 64% complete and is expected to be ready by Aug 2025, the govt has informed the high court.The high court noted the speedy progress of the work and asked the amicus curiae to submit an update at the next hearing.In March, the HC observed that the existing Margao court building needs extensive repairs and stressed the urgent need for the completion of the new building.It directed the PWD contractor to ensure that timelines are strictly adhered to.The HC directed the PWD and concerned departments to ensure the quality construction of the court building without any hindrance and provide cooperation for its timely completion.
