Margao woman attacked, TN man held

Colva: Margao police have arrested a Tamil Nadu native for theft and assault on a woman on Thursday.Police said they arrested Shashi Kumar Sharma (30), a native of Chennai, for theft and attacking Connie Pacheco (48) at her residence at Abade Faria, Margao.Pacheco said when she woke up after hearing suspicious movements inside her house, the accused held a knife to her throat.During the struggle, Pacheco sustained an injury to her neck. The accused then fled the scene with a laptop and a mobile phone.After she raised an alarm, the neighbours were alerted and informed the police. She was then taken to Margao district hospital for treatment.Police launched a search operation and nabbed Sharma at the Margao railway station.The stolen articles were recovered from the accused. Further investigation is under way.
