Mayor Arya Rajendran on Thursday inaugurated health and wellness centres at the Chanthavila and Kattayikkonam wards on Thursday. The services of a doctor and paramedical staff will be available at the health centres from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. She said that in the past five years, the number of health centres in the Corporation has increased from 45 to 78, taking the civic body closer to the aim of having one health centre in each ward.
Ms. Rajendran also inaugurated the renovated Vijnanadayani library in Kulathoor ward. She said that over the past three years, the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation had spent ₹1.5 crore for the development of libraries in various wards. In addition, digital libraries were set up in 21 government schools at a cost of ₹3 crore.
