Luis Cano, a 111-year-old from Linden, New Jersey, holds the title of oldest living man in the U.S., according to LongeviQuest in December 2025. Born December 9, 1914, in rural Colombia, he recently marked another year, proudly sharing life lessons in interviews like one with Fox 5 News.Also known as Luis de Jesús Cano Vásquez, he joined the Colombian Army in 1937 without formal education, later launching a bus fleet for rural routes. With wife Alicia, he raised 10 kids before moving to the US in the 1990s. Although she is no more, he cherishes 11 grandchildren, five great-grandkids, and two great-greats.
His three secrets to living 111 years
Cano keeps it simple for longevity. "Don't drink, always get a good sleep, and don't smoke," he told Fox 5 News.
