INDORE: The elder brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, the Indore businessman who was killed during his honeymoon trip to Meghalaya, demanded for a narco-analysis examination of prime suspect Sonam's parents.
The family believes that more people may have been involved in the transport businessman's murder.Police have arrested five individuals, including 25-year-old Sonam, wife of Raja Raghuvanshi, and her alleged lover, 20-year-old Raj Kushwaha, in connection with the 29-year-old businessman’s murder last month. All five are currently in the custody of Meghalaya Police, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing the case.Raghuvanshi's elder brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, said, 'We want a narco-analysis test conducted on Sonam, her parents, her brother Govind, and her sister-in-law.'Sonam allegedly orchestrated her husband's murder during their honeymoon, collaborating with Kushwaha and three accomplices, in an incident that has stunned the nation.The police initially believed Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi were contract killers, but investigations revealed they were actually associates of Kushwaha.
Vipin Raghuvanshi said, "New videos related to the murder are surfacing one after the other. We believe more people might be involved in my younger brother's killing." The official called for an investigation into individuals who shared these videos on social platforms, questioning their delayed release of the footage.Nevertheless, he conveyed his contentment regarding the investigation conducted by the Meghalaya police."Our family is happy with the investigation," he added.Meanwhile, Sonam's brother Govind attended the ritual feast, despite claims by the Raghuvanshi family that he had not been invited."I am here to seek forgiveness. If anyone suspects us, we are asking to be investigated. We stand with Raja Raghuvanshi's family," he said.The victim's other brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi, said, "I didn't speak to Govind during the ceremony.
He may have come to show sympathy. We did not invite him." According to case details, shortly after their wedding, Raja and Sonam traveled to Sohra (Cherrapunjee) in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district and went missing on May 23.Raja's body was discovered in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 2, while a search for Sonam was still ongoing.She resurfaced in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, approximately 1,200 km from the crime scene, and surrendered to the police in the early hours of June 9.
