Melania Trump launches trailer of 'MELANIA'
Directed by Brett Ratner, the 104-minute film is due to release in theatres on January 30, 2026.
It will be appearing in theatres across North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and more. Following the movie, Amazon will also launch a documentary in the coming months. The movie takes people into the time before the inauguration of Trump's second term. “Hi, Mr. President, congratulations,” Melania Trump says on the phone, speaking from a golden bathroom in the trailer. “Did you watch it?” Donald Trump asks on the other end of the call.
“I did not, I will see it on the news,” she replies. The trailer invites the audience to “Witness History in the Making,” following Melania as she has “20 Days to Become First Lady of the United States of America.”Post its theatrical run, the film will stream on Prime Video, for which Amazon reportedly paid a whopping $40 million.
Netizens react to 'MELANIA' trailer
Well, no matter the grandiose that the first lady would want to surround herself with, the American citizens are not much impressed by her theatrics, literally.
Apart from some optics, Melania has not done much as the first lady and the expectations from her during the second term were high. Thus, the netizens were less than impressed with her trailer move. "This will go down in history as one of the scariest horror movies of all time," wrote a person on X. "A "real" bwhahahaha A "fake" Hollywood blockbuster like she's running the country behind the scenes. I guess Trump taking naps left a lot of work for someone!," added another. "I wouldn't pay a plugged nickel to view the 'Melania' movie in theatres and don't intend to watch it through streaming following its flop at the box office," claimed one. "Even with the best editors in Hollywood, they still couldn’t make her speak in English" mocked an X user."Oh cool, I didn't realize they were making a Blair Witch Project sequel" trolled another. With Americans facing numerous issues politically, economically and personally, the idea of hitting the theatres to watch the movie of a first lady who hasn't really made the effort to connect with her people, seems like a bonehead play.
