Migrant worker killed in lightning strike

A 45-year-old migrant worker was killed after reportedly being struck by lightning at his rented house in Angamaly on Monday (October 27, 2025). The deceased was identified as Khokan Mistri, a native of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. He had been staying at Mookkannoor, Angamaly, with his family for the past several years.

The Angamaly police on Monday registered a case of unnatural death after Saju Thomas, Mistri’s employer, reported the incident. Mistri was staying at a house owned by Saju.

According to the first information report, Mistri was found lying unconscious inside his house around 8.15 a.m. on Monday. Though he was rushed to a private hospital at Mookkannoor, he was declared brought dead.
