Minister Narayana urges Apparel Group to explore opportunities in Andhra Pradesh

On the second day of his Dubai tour on Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana held a series of high-level meetings with top business leaders to attract investments to the State. He invited major Dubai-based companies to participate in the upcoming Visakhapatnam Partnership Summit and explore opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, healthcare, and cooling systems.

According to a statement from his office here, Dr. Narayana met Mr. Nilesh Ved, Chairman of the Apparel Group, which operates 2,300 stores across 14 countries and represents over 25 global brands, including Skechers and Tommy Hilfiger. He assured full government support for the group’s expansion into Andhra Pradesh.

Later, the Minister met Mr. Ramesh Ramakrishnan, Chairman of the Transworld Group, to discuss port-led development and logistics infrastructure. He briefed the chairman on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s initiatives to make Andhra Pradesh a logistics hub with modern ports, airports, and shipbuilding facilities.

At Tabreed’s headquarters in Downtown Dubai, Dr. Narayana held discussions with CEO Khalid Al Marzooqi, CDO Philippe Coquelle, and other senior officials. Tabreed, a global leader in district cooling, was invited to establish similar cooling infrastructure in Amaravati and other cities in Andhra Pradesh.

The Minister was accompanied by CRDA Commissioner K. Kannababu, Municipal Administration Director Sampath Kumar, and former others.
