A 13-year-old boy who had gone missing from Elamakkara in Kochi on Tuesday has been traced back to Thodupuzha in Idukki, Kerala, with the police verifying whether he was forcibly restrained.
The Elamakkara police registered a missing case based on the parents’ complaint when the boy did not return after going to a school in the city on Tuesday morning to write an exam. Reportedly, he was found with a man. The boy’s parents have reached Thodupuzha. He was found near the Thodupuzha bus stand on Wednesday morning.
“Initial reports suggest that he was forcibly restrained. The Class 8 student is being brought to the station. We can confirm it only after recording his statement,” said Elamakkara police sources.
The family had inquired about him at their relatives’ houses, hoping he might have gone there. The police had launched a search for the boy across the city with the help of CCTV footage on Tuesday evening. They also came across footage of the boy walking along a road near a mall in Edappally.
