Aizawl: Mizoram CM Lalduhoma on Friday said the state govt will make efforts to implement all feasible recommendations of the 60th National Level DGP/IGP Conference held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, in Nov to strengthen policing in the state, adding that support from the Centre would be required for full implementation.Addressing the State Level Police Conference in Aizawl, Lalduhoma said the national conference, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had formulated 107 recommendations aimed at strengthening and modernising policing across the country.The CM lauded Mizoram Police for their achievements over the past two years, stating that drug abuse in the state has declined due to their sustained efforts.Lalduhoma said Rs 3.18 crore has been received under the Police Modernisation Scheme, while an additional Rs 21.276 crore has been approved. The funds will be utilised to procure essential police equipment, including three bulletproof vehicles. He acknowledged the efforts of director general of police Sharad Agarwal in securing the funds.
