MK Stalin and Ajith on bomb threat list; 11 homes targeted overnight, hunt for email sender intensifies

Chennai is on high alert following a series of bomb threats. Emails targeting Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, actor Ajith, and other prominent figures were received. Police conducted thorough searches at 11 locations, including residences of actors and directors. No explosives were found. The Cyber Crime Unit is actively investigating to apprehend the sender of these threats.

An incident that caused a stir across Chennai city was reported at the residence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and actor Ajith. An incident in which an unidentified person sent bomb threats via email to 11 important locations in the country caused widespread panic.As per One India, the houses of actors Aravind Swamy and Livingston, music composer Gangai Amaran, and director A.R. Murugadoss were also subjected to threats. Following this, the police conducted a detailed search of all the locations with sniffer dogs and bomb experts. Every location was examined inch by inch. No bombs were found, but there was widespread public anxiety due to the constant threats.

Two threats in one day deepen tension

The situation was further aggravated by the fact that two bomb threats were made to Chief Minister Stalin's house on the same day.

The first email, from the name “Kamatchi Selvaganesh,” warned that powerful bombs had been placed in the Chief Minister’s residence complex. While the police were conducting a search in the morning, another threatening email arrived at night. Chennai Police Commissioner Arun said that the Cyber Crime Unit has reached out to the person who made the threat and an arrest will be made soon.

A series of threats to leaders and actors push police into high alert

The email that arrived this morning went directly to the DGP's office.

It did not provide any details, only stating that "there are bombs in the Alwarpet house." Subsequently, the police conducted a very thorough search from 10 am to 11 am. By then, Ajith, Livingston, Gangai Amaran, Aravind Swamy, director Murugadoss, Dindigul I Leoni, chess player Praggnanandha, and Khushbu have received similar threatening emails.

A total of 11 locations were targeted.

Endless bomb threats

Although no suspicious objects have been found anywhere, the police are investigating this series of threats with great seriousness. Over the past few weeks, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi, Opposition Leader Palaniswami, actors Vijay and Ajith, and actress Trisha, among many others, have received such threats. The police department has confirmed that the Cyber Crime Unit is taking active steps to identify the person behind these endless bomb threats and that the culprit will be arrested soon.
