MLA Shweta Singh in Sadar Hospital
Bokaro: Local MLA Shweta Singh conducted a surprise inspection of the sadar hospital at Camp 2 on Friday and expressed deep dissatisfaction with the unhygienic conditions and mismanagement of the healthcare centre.During her visit, Singh was visibly upset by the garbage scattered across the hospital campus. She warned officials and told them that all filth must be cleared within a week, emphasising that such negligence poses serious health risks to patients and the general public.“This hospital belongs to the people of Jharkhand. If it remains in this hell-like state, citizens will be forced to battle more diseases instead of receiving treatment,” she remarked. The MLA reminded the govt employees of their duty, saying, “Every staff member paid by the Jharkhand govt must fulfil their responsibilities with honesty. Public service is your first duty. Any negligence amounts to injustice to the people.”Singh reprimanded the officials concerned on the spot and directed them to improve the cleanliness immediately, ensure the availability of medicines, and treat patients with dignity.
She emphasised that cleanliness, medicines, and respectful behaviour are not privileges, but the rights of the patients.Reacting to the MLA’s criticism, civil surgeon A B Prasad said sincere efforts were being made to enhance healthcare facilities at the sadar hospital. “With visible improvements in this regard, the patient count has risen significantly, and even the administrative officials are now choosing to seek treatment at this hospital. The Bokaro MLA has raised some concerns, and immediate directions have been issued to address and improve those areas,” he added.
