Mobile technician dies of suspected drug overdose in Shivrampally

A 28-year-old mobile phone technician was found dead in his apartment in Shivrampally, Rajendranagar, late on Wednesday (November 5, 2025), in what police suspect to be a case of drug overdose.

The deceased was identified as Ahmed Ali, a resident of Kalapather, who had been staying in a rented flat in a gated community in Shivrampally. Police said he was living with his friend, identified as Zohra, 28, a native of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.

According to Rajendranagar Inspector K Kastro, Ahmed, his friend Syed Bin Salah, 28 ad Zohra allegedly consumed drugs, including opium, at the flat on Wednesday morning. Later in the evening, Ahmed reportedly began vomiting blood and collapsed. His friends attempted to rush him to a hospital, but he died on the way.

Police shifted his body to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination, while Zohra and Salah were taken for medical examination and are said to be stable.

Officials said preliminary investigation points to a suspected overdose, though samples have been sent for forensic analysis to confirm the cause of death.

The Rajendranagar police have registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
