Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja on Tuesday praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on its centenary year, calling it a “100-year journey of rebuilding India’s culture and nation" and lauding the organisation’s role in shaping patriotic youth and national character.
Sharing his reflections on social media, Jadeja said his recent meeting with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat left a deep impression on him.
“During our discussion, his words reflected the depth of our culture, solutions to contemporary problems, and the spirit of struggle and dedication," the cricketer said, adding that the encounter “further deepened my respect and reverence for the Sangh."

He traced the RSS’s origins to the pre-independence era, describing how “the exploitation of the nation’s soul and core culture by the British and various ideologies" led to the organisation’s formation in 1925 under Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.
“The Sangh began its journey with the first step of ‘character building through individual development,’" Jadeja wrote, noting that over the decades, the Sangh Parivar has “made significant contributions to education, health, economy, politics, and social order."
Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “a prime example of the personalities nurtured in the Sangh’s shakhas," Jadeja extended his congratulations to “millions of volunteers dedicating their lives to the service of the nation and society."
“On completing 100 years of this uninterrupted journey," he added, “I wholeheartedly congratulate and extend my best wishes to all swayamsevaks for their dedication and contribution to the nation."
The RSS celebrated its centenary this year, marking 100 years since its founding in Nagpur on September 27, 1925 by KB Hedgewar.
The milestone was observed with a series of events across the country, including public gatherings, shakhas (local volunteer meetups), seminars, and commemorative ceremonies highlighting the organisation’s social, cultural, and nationalist initiatives.
