Dharwad-based Karnataka Vidyavardhakh Sangha will celebrate the 70th Rajyotsava by organising a series of programmes all through November.

“The events will include music, dance, folk performances, felicitation of achievers, theatre, and ‘Dharege Doddavaru’ programmes,” said KVS general secretary Shankar Halagatti.

He told reporters in Dharwad that the celebrations will be inaugurated by paying floral tributes to the portrait of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari on November 1. At 11 a.m., the newly-appointed honorary vice-presidents of the Sangha, Pandurang Patil, Ajit Prasad, K. B. Navalagimath, Tamil Selvi, and Srinivas Wadappi, will be felicitated. Veeranna Rajur will participate, and the Sangha president Chandrakant Bellad will preside over the function, he said.

From November 3 to 20, music, folk, and dance programmes will be held daily at 5.30 p.m. Ganesh Devy will inaugurate the series. Fifteen achievers from various fields will be felicitated. Every day, around 300 students will interact with one achiever, he added.

From November 21 to 30, a theatre festival will be held, featuring a total of 11 plays, including two children’s plays.

In collaboration with the Karnataka University Teachers’ Association, the ‘Hechchevu Kannadada Deepa’ programme will be organised across 15 colleges in Gadag, Haveri, Dharwad, and Uttara Kannada districts, he said.
