Most schools in the State are all set to reopen on Thursday after a two-month-long summer vacation for the academic year of 2025-26.
In some schools, teachers have taken initiatives to decorate the premises and create a festival-like mood. “Decorating will create positive feelings among students and encourage them to come to school every day. A special meal will be arranged for the first day,” said the teacher of a government school, Bengaluru.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa and other senior Ministers and officials will take part in an event to welcome children back organised by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) at Karnataka Public School, Adugodi in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, the department has requested the elected representatives and district administration at the respective districts to take part in the events organised at the schools near to them to welcome children back to schools.
Speaking to The Hindu, K.V. Trilokchandra, Commissioner of Department of Public Instruction said,
“Around 90% of textbooks and uniforms have reached the schools across the State and textbooks and uniforms will be distributed from Tuesday. There is no shortage of textbooks and uniforms.”
