Members of some Muslim organisations have sought a ban on Sri Ram Sene in the State in the wake of a case of poisoning of drinking water in a school in Hoolikatti of Belagavi district in which a Sri Ram Sene leader is said to have been involved.
They submitted a memorandum to the State government through the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Belagavi on Tuesday.
“Such people are spreading enmity in society and disrupting peace and harmony. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah promised that Sri Ram Sene will be banned if the Congress came to power. It is time for him to fulfil that promise,” they said.
Belagavi City Corporation members Sohil Sangoli and Shahir Pathan and Shakeel Mulla were present.
