Nagaland notifies 19 local dialects for engagement of Gramin Dak Sevaks

Dimapur: The Nagaland govt on Thursday officially notified 19 local dialects spoken in the state for the purpose of engaging Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) under the postal department.The notification, issued by the home department, stated that the identification of local dialects is in line with the requirements of the postal department for certifying language proficiency among GDS applicants.The dialects identified include Angami, Ao, Chang, Chakhesang, Konyak, Khiamniungan, Lotha, Phom, Pochury, Rengma, Sumi, Sangtam, Tikhir, Yimkhiung, Zeliang, Garo, Mikir, Kuki and Kachari.The department said the notification will come into force from the date of its publication in the Nagaland Gazette.
