 'Feels unbearably heavy'

Actress Namitha Pramod is mourning the untimely and tragic loss of her makeup artist Bijeesh Balan. Bijeesh was among the 14 people who lost their lives in the tragic Mundathikode fireworks explosion in Thrissur.

The popular makeup artist was also a member of the FEFKA All Kerala Makeup and Hair Stylist Union.

Namitha Pramod posted a heartfelt note on social media. She expressed deep pain over losing Bijeesh in the fireworks accident.The actress wrote, "Dear Biji, the pain I feel today is beyond words. My heart feels unbearably heavy. I never imagined that I would lose someone like you in the fireworks accident that happened in Mundathicode, Thrissur.

Even now, I cannot accept the reality that you are no longer with us."

She further wrote, "For more than 8 years, you took care of me. You were not just my makeup artist, you were family. Every single day at work it was you who gave me a sense of safety, happiness, and comfort. I always saw you as my brother. You were so innocent, so genuine… one of the purest souls I have ever known. Your love and passion for Thrissur Pooram were unmatched.

Losing you in such a way is heartbreaking. I don’t know how I will even step onto a set without you anymore.

You were such an important part of my life. You were everything to all of us. You left too soon… far too soon. I will remember you every day. Rest in peace, Biji."

Bijeesh Balan’s film contributions

Bijeesh Balan had worked on several Malayalam films. He was part of the makeup team for the upcoming film 'Thudakkam' directed by Jude Anthany Joseph. The movie stars Mohanlal's daughter Vismaya Mohanlal in the lead.

He had also contributed to films like 'Margamkali' and 'She Taxi'.Meanwhile, Mammootty reacted to the Mundathikode fireworks tragedy by Tweeting, "Shocked to hear about the tragic incident in Thrissur. My heart goes out to the family of the deceased. Sincere prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured."For the unversed, tragedy happened on April 21, Tuesday, and reports from The Hindu says that atleast 13 people were killed and around 40 workers were injured.
