The JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER) hosted the first Annual India BioImaging Meeting (IBIAM 2025), in the city on Thursday in a bid to position Mysuru as a key centre for advanced biological imaging research.
A release said the two-day conclave, organised in collaboration with India BioImaging (IBI) and IISER Pune, brought together facility managers, imaging experts and representatives from 22 major imaging cores across the country.
The meeting, supported by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, was aimed at creating a unified national strategy for widening access to high-end microscopy and standardising training programmes in the field, the release added.
The delegates discussed ways to strengthen networking, resource sharing and research collaboration among Indian imaging facilities while a pre-conference hands-on workshop on advanced microscopy techniques was held on December 10.
Organised by the University Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre (USIC) at JSS AHER, the event also exposed young researchers and faculty to systems such as Spinning Disc Confocal Microscopy, 3D Holotomography and Hybrid Microscopy, with support from industry technology partners, the release added.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between Euro-BioImaging and India BioImaging, in what the organisers of the event said marked a new phase of India–Europe cooperation in imaging research.
H. Basavanna Gowdappa, Vice Chancellor JSS AHER, and others were present.
