Navi Mumbai airport, which is expected to begin international operations in the coming months, has already taken a spot among India’s top 10 busiest airports
Mumbai: India’s two new airports are now connected with daily direct flights with Akasa Air launching flight from Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) to Noida International Airport (DXN) on Monday.
The flight connects Mumbai Metropolitan Region with National Capital Region.While the Navi Mumbai airport was commissioned on Dec 25 last year, Noida airport launched its flight operations this week. Navi Mumbai airport, which is expected to begin international operations in the coming months, has already taken a spot among India’s top 10 busiest airports. In April, the Navi Mumbai airport handled 5.24 lakh passengers to become the eight busiest airport in India.“The NMI-DXN connection will improve market access reducing travel time between key corporate catchments across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, technology, real estate, financial services, aviation, hospitality and trade,” said an NMI spokesperson.
