The (BIE) has become the first school education board in India to be recognised by the National Council of Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) as an awarding body (dual category).
“This milestone enables nationally recognised certification of vocational skills, beginning with the approved Sericulture Technician qualification, and opens up future-ready employment pathways for our youth,” HRD Minister Nara Lokesh posted on social media platform ‘X’ on Saturday.
The NCVET is an autonomous, non-statutory and regulatory body under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for monitoring the institutions engaged in providing short-term and long-term educational training in vocational education and designing the basic standards required for operations of such institutions.
The NCVET and the State Board of Intermediate Education signed an agreement on Friday for the NCVET’s recognition as awarding body (AB-Dual) to BIEAP.
Through this recognition, the BIEAP will be eligible to award, assess and certify learners where training is directly being imparted by the Awarding Body in campuses or training centers owned or fully managed by it for its approved or adopted qualifications.
As part of the initial rollout, the Sericulture Technician Qualification submitted by BIEAP has already been approved by NCVET.
