NDA unity on display at Chirag’s Sankranti feast

In a vibrant display of camaraderie, Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joined Union minister Chirag Paswan and JD(U) MLA Chetan Anand for Makar Sankranti celebrations, symbolizing the strength of NDA unity. The gathering highlighted the achievements of Bihar and the commitment to the 'Bihar First, Bihari First' vision.

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar attended the Makar Sankranti feast hosted by Union minister Chirag Paswan and JD(U) MLA Chetan Anand in Patna on Thursday. The occasion also turned into a show of NDA solidarity with top BJP leaders of the state in attendance, including the party’s national working president Nitin Nabin, JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, Union minister Nityanand Rai and state ministers Mangal Pandey and Dilip Jaiswal.

BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi and several other prominent NDA leaders also attended the feast hosted by Chirag at his party LJP(RV) office.Chirag said CM Nitish Kumar was taking Bihar on the path of prosperity by incorporating the suggestions of NDA allies.Road construction department and industries department minister Dilip Jaiswal said Chirag had put forward the slogan ‘Bihar First, Bihari First’, and the NDA had adopted it as part of its agenda to make Bihar progress and remain at the forefront.

“Chief minister Nitish Kumar is also setting out on the ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ on Friday. Bihar will come first and the NDA will bring sweetness like sugarcane juice as those grains of sugar are divided,” he said, in an oblique reference to six Congress MLAs skipping the party’s feast earlier this week.Earlier, the CM attended the feast hosted by JD(U) MLA and strongman Anand Mohan’s son, Chetan Anand. When asked whether he had invited the Congress MLAs to the feast, Chetan quipped, “If they are invited properly, all their MLAs will join the JD(U).”

As political decisions are also traditionally taken during Makar Sankranti feasts, former MP and strongman Surajbhan Singh attended the feast organised by Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) chief Pashupati Kumar Paras, who also hinted at Surajbhan’s return to the party.Surajbhan, whose wife had contested the last assembly election on an RJD ticket against another strongman, Anant Singh, in Mokama, said he had only come to attend the feast. However, Paras said Surajbhan had returned to the party fold.
