The Parappana Agrahara Police have registered an FIR against five residents of an apartment in Bengaluru’s Choodasandra for allegedly verbally abusing and threatening their neighbour for feeding stray dogs on Wednesday. The accused also reportedly beat up the dogs before chasing them away.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim Neha Parveen, the police charged the accused, identified as Salim, Sudha, Kavitha, Aminul Rahman, and Vinod under various sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and under sections like wrongful restrain, criminal intimidation, killing or maiming animal, and intentional insult to provoke breach of peace of the BNS on Thursday for further investigation.

The victim, in her complaint, said that she was working in a private company and living with her father in an apartment in Choodasandra near Electronics City. She stated that she had been feeding stray dogs for the last four years, which the accused used to object to, leading to frequent fights.

On Thursday, while she was feeding the dogs along with her father, the accused allegedly confronted her and chased the dogs away, before hurling abuses and threatening her with dire consequences.
