Netflix will pull more than 100 of its Original series and films from the platform in 2026, marking one of the largest waves of departures for the streaming service's exclusive content.
The removals, which begin January 1 and continue through December 31, include popular shows like The Last Kingdom, Arrested Development, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The departures affect Netflix Originals across multiple genres, including animated series, stand-up comedy specials, international films, and drama series.According to What's On Netflix, these titles are leaving as their exclusive licensing arrangements expire.
While Netflix owns many of its Originals outright, others were acquired through limited-time licensing deals that allowed the platform to brand them as Netflix Originals.DreamWorks Animation Television shows comprise a significant portion of the departures, including multiple Captain Underpants series and Dragons: Rescue Riders content. International productions from France, Italy, Spain, China, and other countries also dominate the removal list.
Some titles, like The End of the F**ing World* and Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, have developed dedicated fan bases since their release. The removal of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power has particularly concerned viewers, as physical media for later seasons remains unavailable.
