Kinder Trust announced the inauguration of newly completed facilities, including a lift car, aqua therapy unit, paediatric and sensory therapy equipment and a generator set for its Kindness Rehab Centre of Excellence at Coonoor in the Nilgiris.
In a press release, the Kinder Trust said that the new facilities have been made possible with the support of Regal Rexnord, Infosys Foundation, Indian Designs and the Bahadurji family, “whose collective support has created an institution unique to the Nilgiris-and perhaps even to Tamil Nadu – dedicated to providing free comprehensive life cycle rehabilitation for children and adults with disabilities and disorders.”
The Nilgiris District Collector, Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, who attended the inauguration of the new facilities commended Kinder Trust for their work, urging families to seek early intervention and urged the Trust to establish more centres across the district.
Diana Cyrus Bharucha, Managing Trustee, Kinder Trust, expressed her thanks to donors, dignitaries and the community. “At Kinder Trust, it is our constant endeavour to empower people with disabilities so that they may live with dignity, self-reliance, and freedom from pain,” she said.
