Minister for Industries and Commerce T.G. Bharath on Saturday (November 8) flagged off new Indra bus services between Kurnool and Visakhapatam.
Flagging off the three AC buses at the RTC bus stand in Kurnool city, Mr. Bharath said the service will help boost tourism and improve connectivity between the two cities. The service was introduced after the Minister took the initiation.
Referring to the recent private bus accident in Kurnool, Mr. Bharath said an automatic sprinkler system in a bus will prevent such tragedy. “I had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue. I will meet Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and discuss the installation of automatic sprinkler system in a bus,” he said.
APSRTC officials said the Indra buses will replace the Super Luxury buses between the two destinations. The bus will start at Kurnool at 2.45 p.m. and reach Visakhapatnam at 9 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, the bus will start at 2.45 p.m. and reach Kurnool at 9 a.m. the next day.
