NIFTEE registration 2026: The registration window for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026 will close today, January 16, 2026. Candidates who have not yet applied must complete the process before the deadline to avoid paying a late fee.
The extension was granted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after a formal request from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).Previously, the last date to register was extended to January 13; it was further extended by the authorities to January 16, 2026. The revised notification introduced a few key updates. The application deadline without a late fee has been extended to January 16, 2026. The late fee window and the application correction window have been rescheduled.
The number of exam cities has increased from 100 to 102.Online registration and application submission without a late fee will remain open up to January 16, 2026. Applications with a late fee of ₹5,000 can be submitted from January 17 to January 19, 2026. The online correction window will be available from January 20 to January 21, 2026.The Stage 1 examination will be held on February 8, 2026. The General Ability Test (GAT) will be conducted in Computer-Based Test mode, while the Creative Ability Test (CAT) will be held in Pen-and-Paper mode.
Admit card and city intimation details will be announced later.
Programmes offered through NIFTEE 2026
NIFTEE 2026 covers a wide range of academic programmes. These include the Bachelor of Design, which requires GAT and CAT followed by a Situation Test, and the Bachelor of Fashion Technology, which is based on GAT only.Postgraduate programmes include the Master of Design, the Master of Fashion Management, and the Master of Fashion Technology, each involving GAT and a personal interview.
Admissions are also open for lateral entry, the artisans category, and PhD programmes.
