Nine passengers were injured after a private electric bus overturned while negotiating a curve on the Outer Ring Road near Pedda Amberpet on Saturday.
According to police, the bus, which was travelling from Hyderabad to Guntur in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, hit a railing while taking a turn and overturned. “Nine of the 15 passengers in the bus suffered injuries, and they were rushed to nearby hospitals. The injuries were not life-threatening,” police said.
The NewGo Electric bus reportedly skidded off the Outer Ring Road while taking the curve. Over 20 passengers were on board when the accident took place.ind
Preliminary reports suggest that the driver’s alleged negligence led to the mishap. “Driver's alleged negligence is said to be the cause of the accident,” police added, noting that an investigation is underway.
The incident occurred just a day after another bus accident in Kurnool, raising concerns about road safety and vehicle maintenance standards among private operators.
