NIRF Rankings 2025: From BITS Pilani to Banasthali Vidyapith, a look at Rajasthan’s top 6 pharmacy institutes

The Ministry of Education has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2025, highlighting the country’s best higher education institutions across multiple categories, including pharmacy.

At the official announcement, Union Minister of Education Mr Dharmendra Pradhan emphasised the credibility of the NIRF framework and its role in aligning Indian higher education with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region, Dr Sukanta Majumdar, added that over 14,000 institutions participated in this year’s ranking exercise.In the pharmacy category, Rajasthan emerged as a strong performer, with a mix of renowned universities and emerging private players securing top spots.

Institutions were assessed on parameters such as Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RPC), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, stood out nationally by securing the 2nd rank in the NIRF 2025 pharmacy category with an impressive overall score of 82.28. The institute excelled in Teaching, Learning and Resources (91.15), Graduation Outcomes (90.46), and Research and Professional Practice (80.66).

As one of India’s premier private institutions, BITS Pilani has consistently led in research, academic innovation, and industry collaborations, making it a top choice for pharmacy aspirants across the country.

Banasthali Vidyapith, Banasthali

Banasthali Vidyapith secured the 22nd rank with an overall score of 63.96 in the pharmacy category. The university performed strongly in Graduation Outcomes (90.15) and Outreach and Inclusivity (75.39), reflecting its student-focused approach and inclusivity in higher education.Banasthali has established itself as one of the most respected women’s universities in the country, offering a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences.

Central University of Rajasthan, Kishangarh

The Central University of Rajasthan achieved the 27th position in the NIRF 2025 pharmacy rankings, with an overall score of 60.44. It performed notably in Teaching, Learning and Resources (73.15) and Outreach and Inclusivity (72.25).Since its inception, the university has been strengthening its pharmacy department through research, international collaborations, and industry partnerships.

Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur

Suresh Gyan Vihar University secured the 39th rank with an overall score of 55.28. The institute showed strength in Outreach and Inclusivity (71.81) and a balanced performance across other parameters.With its focus on innovation and skill-based learning, the university is steadily building a reputation as a growing hub for pharmaceutical education and research in Jaipur.

Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur

Mohan Lal Sukhadia University earned the 64th position in the pharmacy rankings with an overall score of 48.19.

The university performed well in Graduation Outcomes (65.42) and Teaching, Learning and Resources (66.94).Situated in Udaipur, the university has been expanding its research base and introducing new academic initiatives to strengthen pharmacy education in southern Rajasthan.

NIMS University, Jaipur

NIMS University Jaipur secured the 79th rank in the pharmacy category with an overall score of 43.92. It performed best in Teaching, Learning and Resources (73.55) and Outreach and Inclusivity (67.01). NIMS University is gradually carving its place in the field of pharmaceutical studies.

NIRF 2025 pharmacy rankings for institutes in Rajasthan

The top six Rajasthan-based institutes in the pharmacy category are:
