An impressive array of national leaders is set to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar, who will take oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the tenth time. The ceremony, scheduled for November 20 at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan, comes a day after the Bihar Assembly is formally dissolved, clearing the way for the formation of the NDA government in the state again.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the oath-taking ceremony, prompting heightened security and large-scale preparations at Gandhi Maidan. Heavy police deployment and logistical arrangements began on Monday as the venue was readied for the high-profile event.

Joining the Prime Minister will be some of the BJP’s most senior national leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national president JP Nadda. Their presence reflects the party’s strengthened position in Bihar, where the BJP emerged as the single largest party following the NDA’s sweeping victory in the assembly elections.

Chief Ministers From Across BJP & NDA States To Attend

A large contingent of Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from BJP- and NDA-ruled states is also expected to be present. Among those confirmed are Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is also slated to attend the ceremony. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is also likely to join the ceremony.

Nitish Kumar- who has already served nine terms- will be sworn in for the tenth time, marking a rare and unprecedented milestone in Bihar’s political history. In the recent Assembly elections, the NDA secured more than 200 seats in the 243-member House. The BJP won 89 seats, emerging as the largest party, followed by the JD(U) with 85 seats, cementing the alliance’s dominant mandate.
