The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat, on Sunday said that India is already a Hindu nation, and it does not need approval from the Indian Constitution to become one. He emphasised that the country would remain a Hindu nation as long as people celebrate the cultural heritage of the country and the glory of their ancestors.

"The sun rises in the east; we don't know since when this has been happening. So, do we need constitutional approval for that too? Hindustan is a Hindu nation. Whoever considers India their motherland appreciates Indian culture, as long as there is even one person alive on the land of Hindustan who believes in and cherishes the glory of Indian ancestors, India is a Hindu nation," Bhagwat said while addressing a conference in Kolkata, as reported by news agency ANI.
