Anzer R.N., 47, State coordinator of the National Service Scheme (NSS), passed away on Tuesday at a private hospital in the city. He had been undergoing treatment since August 5 after suffering a brain haemorrhage while attending an event in Kollam.

A native of Poyappally in Kollam, Dr. Anzer had played a pivotal role in several NSS initiatives. He recently oversaw the first phase of the organisation’s ‘Sneha Bhavan’ housing project, which handed over ₹4.5 crore in support to landslide-affected families in Wayanad.

Prior to his deputation as the NSS State coordinator, Dr. Anzer served as a faculty member in the Department of Commerce at Government College, Nedumangad.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at the Chemboor Muslim Jama-ath Mosque in Ambalamkunnu, Kottarakara.
