NU scholar wins Gavin Mooney Prize

Dimapur: Welisou Mero, a PhD research scholar at the Nagaland University, was awarded the Gavin Mooney Prize for a paper titled “Assessing public healthcare service quality in Nagaland: Insights from a case study in Phek district” during the 13th Indian Health Economics and Policy Association conference held at IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, recently, a varsity release said on Tuesday.The Gavin Mooney Prize is named after the late Prof Gavin Mooney, the pioneering health economist who championed equity in healthcare and reshaped health policy thinking. It is awarded annually to recognise outstanding research that advances equity-oriented thinking in health economics and health policy.The prize-winning paper was jointly prepared by the scholar with her supervisor Dr Renbeni Kikon, assistant professor, department of economics, Nagaland University.
