Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi
Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 20 industrial projects with a total outlay of Rs 30,000 crore during a two-day visit to Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts on Jan 27 and 28, officials said.
The projects are expected to generate around 10,000 jobs.During the visit, Majhi will also inaugurate Enterprise Odisha 2026, a business summit being organised by the state govt in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Rourkela. The flagship initiative aims to accelerate industrial growth, strengthen investment facilitation and boost employment generation in western Odisha.In Sambalpur, Majhi will inaugurate flat rolled products unit of Hindalco, coming up at Lapanga at an investment of over Rs 5,000 crore.Officials said Odisha is rapidly reshaping its industrial landscape by moving beyond traditional sectors to build a diversified, employment-driven and future-ready industrial ecosystem, with western Odisha emerging as the state’s next major growth engine.Since the formation of the new state government, western Odisha has witnessed significant momentum, with investment proposals worth Rs 1,28,472 crore approved, carrying the potential to generate 69,338 jobs, officials added.
