A bus belonging to the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation caught fire near Roddavalsa, about 20 km from Salur in Parvathipuram Manyam district of Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday (November 6, 2025) morning.
APSRTC officials said initial reports indicate that a woman passenger noticed smoke emanating from the front portion of the bus around 7:45 a.m. and immediately alerted the driver. The driver quickly evacuated all five passengers on board, ensuring their safety before the fire could spread. Officials said the bus (OD 10 S 6754, Ashok Leyland BS VI) was not air-conditioned. The Salur Depot Manager has rushed to the spot, and a detailed report is expected soon.
Transport Minister M. Ramprasad said a committee headed by a Regional Manager-level officer has been constituted to look into the incident.
