Samagra Shiksha State project director B. Srinivasa Rao on Wednesday (June 18) directed the School Education Department to ensure that school-kit items for distribution to students under ‘Sarvepalli Radhakrishna Vidyardhi Mithra’ scheme reach the schools from the mandal points.

In a statement, he said textbooks, notebooks and dictionaries have already been distributed to students in phase I and said school bags, uniform cloth, shoes, socks and belts have reached the mandal points, from where they should be taken to the schools for distribution.

He said the headmasters should take up the responsibility to ensure that the students get their uniforms stitched promptly without any delay. He directed the headmasters to ensure that students attend the parent-teacher meetings, scheduled to be held in July first week, wearing their new uniforms. The District Education Officer and Additional Project Coordinators (APCs) must issue clear instructions to the Mandal Education Officers and headmasters in this regard, he said.

Teacher transfers

The School Education Department has directed principals, postgraduate teachers (PGTs) and trained graduate teachers (TGTs), who have received transfer orders while working in model schools, to report to their new schools immediately.

Their transfer process was conducted through web counselling and as part of this process, 2,608 regular teaching staff from model schools across the State were identified as eligible for general transfers. Of them, 1,312 teachers applied for transfers, and 1,009 of them were transferred to schools of their choice as per web-based selections.

Out of them, 792 teachers were given mandatory transfers while 217 of them were transferred based on their requests.
