MEA says Pakistan has turned terrorism into statecraft, hits out at OIC for ignoring Pahalgam terror attack and legitimising false claims.

India on Monday strongly rejected the “unwarranted and factually incorrect" references made to Jammu and Kashmir at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, calling it a politically motivated move driven by Pakistan.
In a sharply worded statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the Islamic grouping had once again allowed itself to be used by Pakistan to propagate false narratives and deflect from its own record of terrorism and minority persecution.
“This is yet another example of Pakistan misusing the OIC platform for narrow political ends," the MEA said. “The statements coming out of the OIC, pushed by a country that has turned terrorism into statecraft, only reflect a continued disregard for facts."
The MEA said the OIC had no standing to comment on India’s internal affairs. “Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and sovereign part of India, a fact enshrined in our Constitution and beyond dispute," it said.
The statement also highlighted the OIC’s silence on cross-border terrorism, pointing to the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed several Indian lives.
“The OIC’s repeated failure to acknowledge the real and documented threat of terrorism emanating from Pakistan, most recently evidenced in the heinous Pahalgam attack, reflects a wilful disregard for facts and the global consensus on the fight against terrorism," the MEA said.
India also rejected Pakistan’s accusation of “unprovoked and unjustified military aggression," calling it absurd and factually baseless. It defended Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam attack, as a legitimate act of self-defence.
“Operation Sindoor was a precise and targeted response against terrorist infrastructure operating from Pakistani territory. Pakistan’s retaliatory attempts not only failed but also endangered civilian lives and caused casualties among its own population," the statement said.
The MEA further underlined Pakistan’s poor human rights record and history of sheltering terrorists, calling its remarks at the OIC an attempt to distract from internal failures.
“It is ironic that a country with an abysmal human rights record and a long history of empowering terrorists chooses to lecture others on counter-terrorism and human rights," the statement added.
India called on the OIC to reflect on the damage done to its credibility by repeatedly allowing Pakistan to hijack its agenda.
