One dead, four injured as bus overturns on Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway

Ahmedabad: A passenger was killed, and many were injured after a private bus overturned on the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar Expressway near Koth on Saturday evening, police said. The accident occurred around 7.30pm within the limits of Koth police station.

According to police, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, after which the bus overturned and veered off the road.The bus was carrying around 25 passengers who were on their way back from a family function. Four passengers suffered serious injuries, police officers said.Locals, police personnel and emergency response teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident. Four ambulances from the 108 emergency service were deployed for rescue and medical assistance.All injured passengers were shifted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Dholka for treatment. Authorities said medical teams were attending to the injured and monitoring their condition.The accident led to temporary disruption of traffic movement on the expressway.Police and district officials remained at the scene to coordinate relief efforts and assist passengers. The identity of the deceased passenger was not immediately released. Police are examining the circumstances that led to the accident. Police said the exact cause of the crash will be determined after a detailed inquiry and inspection of the vehicle.
