One more person diagnosed with amoebic meningoencephalitis in Kozhikode

One more person was diagnosed with amoebic meningoencephalitis in Kozhikde on Sunday, taking the total number of infected people under treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital to eight.

According to sources, the infected person is a native of Tharuvana in Wayanad. He had reportedly taken bath in a swimming pool. At present, three people each from Kozhikode and Malappuram and two others from Wayanad are under treatment. A girl had died of the infection earlier.
