Patna: Only 32.3% of teachers, who had appeared in third edition of Sakshamta Pariksha (competency test) held from July 23 to July 25 could pass the test, conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), its chairman Anand Kishor announced on Thursday. A total of 24,436 teachers of classes I-XI, working in local bodies, had participated, out of whom 7,893 passed.Worst performance was in classes I-V category, where 21,157 candidates took the test, with 6,144 (29.04%) passing. For classes VI-VIII, 1,802 candidates appeared, and 949 (52.66%) passed, while of 1,076 candidates for classes IX-X, 594 (55.2%) passed. For classes XI-XII, 401 candidates appeared, and 206 (51.37%) passed.The test was conducted online at eight centres in Patna. The results are provisional as the education department will conduct counselling of the successful candidates, who will be notified separately.The BSEB is conducting these competency tests to grant the local body teachers the status of state employees, as per the state govt’s orders. Previously, two tests were conducted from Feb 26 to March 6, 2024, and Aug 23-26, 2024. In total, 2,61,854 candidates have passed the three competency tests so far.The results of Diploma in Elementary Education second year was also announced by the board. Admit cards were issued to 31,695 candidates, out of whom 28,825 passed, with a pass percentage of 90.94%.
