The BJP leaders Tuesday continued with ‘jungle raj’ rhetoric against the RJD-Congress combine in Bihar and also targeted Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his fresh allegations of malpractices during the 2024 Haryana elections, and his recent demand for reservation in the Army.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who addressed rallies in the Garua, Sikandara, Jamui and Banka constituencies, accused the Opposition of levelling baseless allegations against the country’s institutions out of the fear of electoral loss.
“They are levelling allegations against Constitutional institutions; they level accusations against the EC… ‘hydrogen bomb’ and ‘atom bomb’… they are looking for excuses understanding that their defeat in Bihar is certain,” he said.
He said the nation’s armed personnel had a singular religion of ‘sainya dharam’ (religion of combat/warfare), in response to the senior Congress leader’s statement at a rally in Aurangabad a day earlier.
Taking on RJD, Rajnath said Lalu’s party had ushered in an era during which Bihar got the poor state tag. He credited the NDA government for having laid a network of highways, bridges and roads. “The conditions were so dire…that power supply for two to four hours a day was a luxury…in villages, people used lanterns. This was the condition of Bihar…today Bihar has a network of highways, large bridges and rural roads,” he said.
BJP chief J P Nadda, who addressed rallies in Madhuban and Narkatiaganj, said RJD stood for ‘rangdari’, ‘jungleraj’ and ‘dadagiri’.
“RJD stands for ‘rangdari’, ‘jungleraj’ and ‘dadagiri’ and their dadagiri has still not left them…Was there fear of Shahabuddin or not? Was he not made an MP by Lalu?…Is the Lalu family not the most corrupt family in Bihar?…their lives are going to revolve around jail and bail…will you allow such people to come forward?…Lalu ji does not care about Bihar at all…he does not see any Yadav beyond his family,” Nadda said.

Taking on Gandhi, Nadda said he has started speaking against the country in the process of opposing PM Narendra Modi. “Rahul Gandhi, while opposing Modi ji, has begun opposing the nation itself… did he or did he not raise questions regarding the surgical strike?… did he or did he not insult the Army? Did he or did he not raise questions on Op Sindoor?… Whenever Rahul Gandhi travels abroad, does he or does he not say wrong things about the country? Does he or does he not insult the country as Tejashwi watches silently?” he said, adding, “this is not a gathbandhan but a lathbandhan and thugbandhan”.
