Gaya: Former minister and BJP leader, Ramadhar Singh, alleged that “outsider” candidates have been launched in Aurangabad town and Nabinagar constituencies and there was a need for implementation of ‘vocal for local’ policy in politics as well.BJP Aurangabad candidate Trivikram Singh is an outsider as he hails from Rohtas, said Singh.Echoing similar sentiment, Lav Kumar, JD(U)’s former spokesperson and senior leader hailing from the Nabinagar area of Aurangabad district, said someone from India-Nepal border—a reference to BJP candidate Chetan Anand’s home town in Saharsa district—was not acceptable to the people of what is known as the Chittorgarh of Bihar.
Being a son of the soil, he will contest the Nabinagar seat, said Kumar.Chetan was in RJD till quite recently. Only a few months back he was involved in an unsavoury incident in AIIMS-Patna and a criminal case was also registered against him in this connection, alleged Lav Kumar, adding that the local pride has been hit as Nabinagar falls in Chittorgarh (Rajput bastion) of Bihar.Chetan Anand is the son of politician Anand Mohan, who was earlier awarded life imprisonment in the Gopalganj district magistrate, G Krishnaiah, murder case.
Not only Aurangabad and Nabinagar, the outsider issue was also being raised in the Sherghati assembly constituency of Gaya district. JD(U) leader Raju Burnwal said Upendra Singh, the NDA candidate of Sherghati, was a resident of Barun of Aurangabad and he does not have a local connect.
