As many as 300 students of Avanthi Engineering and Pharmacy Colleges donated blood at a special camp organised by Brahma Kumaris in Avanthi college premises at Cherukupally in Vizianagaram on Monday (August 25, 2025).

The blood camp was organised on the occasion of 18th death anniversary of Rajyogini Prakashamani, who dedicated her life for charitable programmes in the country. Brahma Kumaris Peth representative B.K. Shiva Leela said that every youngster can donate blood four times in a year and the blood donated by the person can save 12 lives and victims of road accidents.

Avanthi Group chairman and former minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said that Brahma Kumari’s charitable activities and meditation and other activities educate the students about the importance of humanity.

NTR Memorial Trust doctor K. Somasekhar said that every student whose hemoglobin is more than 12.5 grams can donate blood for every three months. He asked girl students to have healthy food to reach 12.5 level off hemoglobin since it was below 9 gm among many of the girls.

The College Director A. Chandra Sekhar, Avanthi Engineering College Principal Murali Krishna, the Pharmacy College Principal Purna Nagasree and others were present.
