“In the ongoing SIR in Bihar, efforts have been intensified to ensure that all eligible electors are included in the draft electoral roll to be published on August 1, 2025,” the Election Commission said in a statement.

Amid concerns raised by the Opposition over the possible exclusion of voters, which triggered a major dispute and a legal case, the Election Commission has assured that there will be an opportunity to make corrections.

The Commission said that efforts are being made to include all eligible voters in the draft list.

According to the statement issued by the commission, almost 1 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs), 4 lakh volunteers and 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) from 12 political parties are helping in this process.

The commission also said that they are contacting voters who have not submitted their Enumeration Forms or could not be found at their listed addresses.

Chief Electoral Officers, District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Booth Level Officers have held meetings with political parties and shared the lists of 21.36 lakh voters whose forms are still missing.

“As per the SIR order dated 24.06.2025, from August 1 to September 1, 2025, a full one-month will be available to any member of the public to file objections for any additions, deletions and rectification in Draft Electoral Rolls,” the statement added.

After the completion of the entire process, the final roll will be published on September 30, the commission added.
