“ISPR is projecting Pakistan’s own image. Such statements can’t erase FATF records or UN terror designations. Pakistani military is only handling narrative control,” said sources

Pakistan has called India’s claims on Tuesday that “Pakistani military lost over 100 soldiers along the Line of Control and 12 aircraft during ‘Operation Sindoor’ in May", the “same delusional, fabricated and provocative propaganda that they regurgitate before every state elections in India".

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), media and public relations wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces, in a statement said: “In the run up to elections in Bihar and West Bengal, Indian military leadership has started parroting the same delusional, fabricated and provocative propaganda that they regurgitate before every state elections in India."

What India said

Indian Army’s Director General Military Operations Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai on Tuesday cited a list of awards conferred posthumously by the Pakistani military, echoing the details shared by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh a few days ago.

He shared certain details of the May 7 to 10 hostilities, saying Pakistan had resorted to cross-border firing immediately after India pounded nine terror targets on May 7.

“Pakistanis possibly unwittingly let out their awards list last month on the 14th of August, and the number of posthumous awards that they awarded suggests to us now that their casualties on the LoC were also in excess of 100," Lt Gen Ghai said during a conclave of army chiefs from UN Troop Contributing Nations.

“We went after terrorists, and once that had been achieved, it wasn’t our intention to escalate it unless compelled to do so. There was also cross-border firing by Pakistan immediately once the terror targets were engaged."

What ISPR said

“It is saddening to see the military leadership of a nuclear-armed country issuing irresponsible statements under immense political pressure. The lies being fed to the Indian public and international audience have turned Indian military machine into a laughing stock. Any professional soldier would know that unnecessary chest thumping and unwarranted statements might initiate a cycle of jingoism and lead to serious consequences for peace and stability in South Asia," the ISPR said.

“The contradictions in the Indian Army presser are so evident that they should not be dignified with a response. Evidently, the Indian leadership is attempting to mould history to its liking by inventing outlandish, Bollywood-style scripts. The world now recognises India as the true face of cross-border terrorism and the epicentre of regional instability, bent upon adventurism and hegemonism to the detriment of its people and its neighbours," it said.

“The Indian Armed Forces and its political masters must realise that Pakistan’s people and its Armed Forces are fully capable and committed to defend every inch of our territory with full resolve. Every act of aggression will be dealt with a swift, resolute and intense response that will be remembered by posterity," ISPR said.

What intelligence sources said

“It’s psychological warfare aimed at discrediting India’s army credibility before international community. Instead of answering for terror sanctuaries and TTP chaos inside its borders, Rawalpindi blames Indian politics to distract Pakistanis from its own failures in Balochistan, Khyber, and Waziristan. By calling India the epicentre of instability, the ISPR simply projects Pakistan’s own image. Pakistan is a state battling internal insurgencies, economic collapse, and diplomatic isolation," said sources.

“The real worry in GHQ is growing global documentation of Pakistan’s hybrid terror ecosystem from Kashmir to Kabul. Tagging Indian briefings as Bollywood will not erase FATF records or UN terror designations. Pakistan’s military is not defending peace but it’s defending narrative control," they said.
