RSS publicity in-charge Sunil Ambekar Thursday said that people from all sections of society are joining the RSS and that shows how they view the Sangh.
Ambekar was responding to a question on a comment by Congress leader Priyank Kharge that lifting the ban on the RSS was a mistake. Priyank, the son of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, was criticising RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale’s remarks seeking a debate on whether the words socialism and secularism should remain part of the Preamble.
Ambekar sought to clarify Hosabale’s statement.
“What Datta ji has said is very clear. He has spoken about all that happened during the Emergency… such as atrocities in jails… atrocities unleashed on the Constitution. So, after 50 years, there should be a debate on these issues, he has said. It should be taken in that context,” he said.
Ambekar said: “People from various sections of the society are getting associated with the Sangh and supporting it. This clearly shows how people see the Sangh.”
