Personality tests have become quite popular on social media these days, and you too might have come across them lately. As the name suggests, these are fun and easy tests-- generally based on images or simple questions-- and they claim to reveal your hidden but true personality traits based on your answer.

But how do personality tests work? These are tools designed to explore individual traits, behaviours, and thought patterns. They help people understand themselves better by highlighting strengths, weaknesses, preferences, and emotional tendencies. Commonly used in psychology, education, and workplaces, these tests can guide one in making the right career choices, improve relationships, and even support their mental well-being.

This particular test, which was shared by Marina Winberg on social media, for instance is based on eight different types of images. Based on which picture you associate with the most, the test can reveal what truly makes you anxious, Marina shared in a video."Anxiety isn't just a feeling of worry. It's often a complex mechanism of our psyche that manifests differently in everyone. Take this mini-test to understand your unique form of anxiety and get to know yourself better," her post read.

To take this test, simply close your eyes and relax. Look at the above image and pick one of images that resonates with you the most. Now, read its interpretation below, as mentioned in Marina's post:"1. The Mental Controller* Your trait: Analytical mind, perfectionism.* Source of anxiety: The need to control everything, fear of making a mistake.* How it feels: Inability to "switch off" the internal dialogue, constant analysis of your own and others' actions.* Marker phrase: "What if I missed something?"2. The Empath* Your trait: Deep emotional sensitivity and empathy.* Source of anxiety: You unconsciously absorb the stress and negative emotions of those around you like a sponge.* How it feels: Feeling overwhelmed after social interactions, an unexplained heaviness, as if you're carrying someone else's burden.* Marker phrase: "I can feel that something's wrong with them, and it's bothering me."3. The Prisoner Of Chaos* Your trait: A need for order and structure (both external and internal, mental).* Source of anxiety: Uncertainty, unclear plans, the feeling that everything is falling apart and "nothing is working out."* How it feels: Intense discomfort and disorientation when your familiar world loses its foundation.* Marker phrase: "I need everything to be in its place, otherwise I can't focus."4. The Creative Generator* Your trait: Bright, creative, but scattered thinking.* Source of anxiety: A simultaneous flood of thoughts, ideas, and external stimuli that your brain can't process quickly enough.* How it feels: Information overload, difficulty focusing on one task, a feeling of "chaos in your head."* Marker phrase: "I have so many ideas that I don't know where to start, and I end up doing nothing."5. In A Gridlock (Panic type)* Your trait: Deep emotional involvement.* Source of anxiety: A feeling of crisis, an insurmountable obstacle, or being trapped.* How it feels: Sudden panic attacks, a sense of stupor, feeling "locked" in your own thoughts or circumstances.* Marker phrase: "I don't see a way out, I'm starting to panic."6. The Analyst* Your trait: Systematic, logical thinking.* Source of anxiety: Disorganization, messy situations, and contradictory information.* How it feels: Fragmented, choppy thoughts, a feeling of "disconnection," extreme stress from the inability to build a clear picture.* Marker phrase: "There's no logic to this! It's driving me crazy."7. The Ruminator (Obsessive thinker)* Your trait: A tendency for deep self-analysis.* Source of anxiety: Intrusive thoughts you can't get rid of. You constantly "chew over" the same situation.* How it feels: Mental chewing gum that doesn't lead to a solution but only increases anxiety and paralyzes action.* Marker phrase: "I can't stop thinking about it; it's like a broken record in my head."8. The Rollercoaster* Your trait: Emotional lability (mood swings).* Source of anxiety: The unpredictability of your own state.* How it feels: Periods of calm and peace are abruptly and without visible reason replaced by powerful surges of anxiety. It feels like you're living on a swing.* Marker phrase: "I was feeling fine, and then it just hit me out of nowhere...""How true was this personality test result for you?
