Pinjore horror: Neighbour kills 8-month-old boy, buries body

Panchkula: A chilling tragedy unfolded in Dharampur Colony, Pinjore, where an 8-month-old boy was abducted from his home and later found murdered, allegedly by a neighbour driven by personal animosity.The infant, son of Arjun Kumar and Payal, was sleeping beside his mother when he mysteriously vanished during the night. Panic gripped the family when Payal woke up to find her child missing. The parents immediately dialled emergency helpline 112, prompting swift action from Pinjore police.Locals soon tipped off police after spotting a man carrying a baby wrapped in a blanket near the Devlaghati Baba Balak Nath Temple.

When confronted, the man claimed the child was unwell and he was taking him to a spiritual healer. But when he returned alone, suspicions escalated.

Under questioning, the suspect revealed to be a neighbour of the victim's family and confessed to abducting and killing the child. He admitted to burying the body near a temple by the Kaushalya River, citing a personal feud as the motive.A large police team, including the DCP Panchkula, DCP crime, and Pinjore police station officers, rushed to the scene. The baby's body was recovered from a shallow grave.The accused is now in custody, and a full-scale investigation is underway to uncover the complete circumstances behind this horrific crime.
